Many of the artists did not sign or leave records of their work, most had their own distinctive and recognisable styles that can be identified.  While others had many different looks making identification almost impossible.
Do you live or work in a place where there is art painted on the walls or ceilings?
Every day a wall or ceiling is painted over.  Every day  historical buildings are torn down.  That art  is gone forever.
Take pictures, document what is there.

All four designs here were painted by Julious Fisher of Long Beach, CA around 1923.
Here are three examples of the fine work of another Long Beach artist, Jens Raven.  He also worked during 1920's through 1950's.  It is not known whether Raven and Fisher knew one another, but it appears that they both did work at the Butler Residence.

The Artist
The Fisher Family is attempting to locate and document work done by F. Julious Fisher.
His stencil art took him from San Diego on the south to San Francisco, California on the north.  His easel art was sold in the Long Beach, Mariposa, Palm Springs areas of California and in Phoenix, Arizona.  The wood carvings could be scattered all over California.
It is not the family's intention to purchase any of his art, only to put his name on it. So if you have or have seen art that resembles pieces on these web pages, please contact "fish" via the email address below.
